We put strong emphasis on the development of new in-cell NMR methods.
We have developed several protocols for the efficient delivery of recombinant proteins into a wide range of cultured mammalian cells.
Our approaches entail novel protein transduction methods that can easily be applied to many different mammalian cell types, including primary neuronal cultures.
In addition, we develop NMR methods for fast readouts of low in-cell NMR sample concentrations, as well as carbon-detected experiments for enhanced sensitivity measurements at physiological temperatures and pH.
Our long-term goal is to develop in-cell NMR spectroscopy into a tool to analyze cellular protein structures and functions at truly physiological (i.e. ultra-low) intracellular concentrations.
